:gzz: Crash report: ESC key (v.0706)

Hi folks--

The ESC key, which crashed me irrecoverably in v.0704
 several times, did the same thing in v.0706, again sending
 the left window into a view I could not get out of.

Other things had already been going bad, so this may only
 kill it after a downward spiral ...
