Weekly Planning Meeting, 10/16

Highlights 10/16:

This week, the big congratulations go to chris and rick. Rick
has click controllers on maps in Montage, among other things.
Chris compiled his code for version comparison for the next merge
for hill, and when hill merged it in, it just worked, with no
muss or fuss! Chris, we need for you to tell everybody else how
it's done :-)

Congratulations also go to roger, roland, dean and markm. Roger
has blended different tools to speed up link times. Roland has
meanwhile been doing a great job of making formic and stubble
changes fast enough so that the writing-to-disk task does not
get slowed down; most recently, he eliminated dups from superfuncs
and added a break statement in stubble.

Meanwhile, Markm and dean fixed a small problem introduced last
week when we merged in the permissions system and rest homes:
the system performance went from 153 seconds for a waldo test
to, uh, 20 hours :-) Well, that's all taken care of; the permission
system is now just 17% overhead.

Thanks go to ravi, for his swift and excellent trip report on
CSCW.
