two merges

This time you all get two merges!  We have a smalltalk merge in
	~xanadu/st80/releases/aug2/image
which contains all the recent stuff modulo the newest disk stuff, which
will get put into the next smalltalk merge that I'm planning to get to
almost immediately.
Also, we have a new X++ release in
	~xanadu/backend/alpha-7

Will everybody please synchronize to these versions!  Merging widely
diverged stuff is a real nuisance.
