Weekly Planning Meeting, 5/22

Highlights 5/22:

The big congratulations this week go to hugh. Hugh has X++ working (save
one bug) on the Mac (needed to bring up Tapestry in C++), and has put a
lunch bet on hash sets.

Congratulations also go to roland and bill. Roland has ceran poised for
an endurance test flight: he'll be running it across all the public
interfaces in the server this week, so bobp has a starting point for
creating a simplified, beginner's interface to Xanadu. Meanwhile bill
has gatormail working, so Mac people can have a modern interface to Unix
mail.

And for a limited time only, we have a new bit of information on some of
the tasks in the individual task lists. This item is the confidence-
adjusted projection of how long the task would take, as estimated by the
task owner. Thus, people will be able to compare their original
projections to reality as they experience it; hopefully this will close
the feedback loop on scheduling in such a way that people can learn more
about their own estimating processes.

Meetings: Dean, michael, snarf packing. Bobp, hill, ravi, cooling the
Server interface toward freezing. Bobp, markm, should the simplified
interface be in C or C++? Bobp, marcs, resources for documentation
again. Markm, dean, marcs, rearrange tasks. Roger, hugh, reproducible
Tapestry tests. Hugh, michael, finding changes in smalltalk.
