Weekly planning meeting, 2/6

Highlights 2/06:

The humongous congratulations this week go to hugh and ravi and 
dean, for building the last pieces needed to see a text pane 
and a link pane (this is real infofactory stuff, folks) constructed 
from documents and links stored in the ent. Bravo! Of course, 
the demonstration is a bit, ahhh, rough, at the moment: it's 
read only, no editing, no link traversing, and it's slow; but 
still, it's there and it's wonderful (and as those of you watching 
xanatech know, even more progress has been made since Tuesday; 
more on that progress next week :-) 

Big congratulations also go to roland and joel. Roland has the 
"crutch" working, which corrects a defect in current C++ compilers 
that would otherwise make it awkward to use X++ (the crutch lets 
you use || and && in expressions with X++, an issue we discussed 
in xanatech long ago). Meanwhile joel completed a draft of a 
new information packet.

Additional congratulations  to roger, who built event handling software 
to drive Open Look that is compatible with fm, and to hill, who 
has the Cxx browser working again. A few condolences go to hill 
as well; hugh tells me that hill had the opportunity to learn, 
when taking over the Cxx browser, just how incomplete people 
can make things in smalltalk and still have something that looks 
like it works :-)
